Today I am talking about Aleksander.
The living image of a Viking.
Beard included, of course.
The Viking is not only because he is Norwegian, but because of his great resemblance to Ragnar Lodbrok.
And the funniest thing is that his girlfriend looks like Lagertha.
Coincidences of life.
Ragnar and Lagertha.
A movie couple like Romeo and Juliet, or more current, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.
Resemblances aside, this will sound like Dutch to you if you haven't seen Vikings or Games of Thrones.
The thing is, Aleksander weighs 115 kilos, is 1.95 metres tall and has a weak spot.
Almost all heroes have one, and Aleksander's, our very own Ragnar, is about hes foot. Not about his Achilles' heel.
He likes to get stronger and practices powerlifting: lifting weights in 3 ways: squat, bench press and deadlift.
And he says that his nice Adidas, especially for powerlifting, have ended up in the closet.
Why did he throw away a pair of €130 shoes?
Unbearable pain.
Never before had anything hurt him like this. Not even a toothache.
He couldn't stand it, despite the painkillers.
And he couldn't walk properly either.
It was as if he was hunched over.
Foot things affect us doubly:
And if you don't move, you'll take root like plants.
Alive, but immobile.
And all because of a toenail.
An ingrown toenail.
The shoes he wore didn't allow his toes to have room space.
And that was the source of his problem.
That's why the Adidas ended up in the closet.
Because they were too narrow.
And when you lift weights the pressure on your feet is greater and the toes expand even more.
They are the basis for the body to stay in balance.
And without balance you can't apply force.
Like that Pirelli slogan:
Carl Lewis, Olympic 100m champion.
That's why he went to the podiatrist.
He removed the nail.
And he started to respect the space between his toes.
To start with the Merrell Trail Glove 5 leather shoes for everyday use, going out for a walk, shopping...
And with the Xero Shoes Prio for powerlifting.
They are not the only minimalist shoes he has.
He has also added to his collection a recent Lems boots for rain and cold weather.
In short, a Viking with a Herculean body has it clear:
He strengthens his body with strength.
And to keep his feet healthy and pain-free, he uses a minimalist footwear.
Your health starts with your feet.
