3 "weird" things that happen to your feet when you stop wearing conventional shoes

Last week I told you how Cristina was struggling to make progress.

That many believe that putting on barefoot shoes is like changing coats.

That the next day your feet will heal on their own, injuries will disappear, and you'll even run faster than Usain Bolt after three coffees.

You see, it doesn't work that way.

Your body needs time to adapt and, in the process, weird things happen.

And because of that, in this era where doubling up on shoes is more fashionable than TikTok dances (if you don't know what I mean, take a look on Instagram), I'm going to tell you 3 things that few talk about, but that will happen to you when you leave conventional footwear.

1. You will feel the ground in a completely new way.

Before, with your thick sneakers, you could step on a stone and not even notice it. Now you feel it.

You will also feel the texture of the sand or the difference between one tile and another.

This isn't bad. It's that at last your feet are connecting with the real world and not with a foam platform that took away all the information.

Yes, it seems strange at first, I hear it a lot.

But later you enjoy it and even miss it.

2. Your feet will become strong.

By using barefoot footwear, the muscles of your feet and legs work more, and the first few days you might feel soreness in various areas.

If you're going to start running, definitely in the calves.

It's normal. You've spent years with weak, inactive feet, like two retirees sunning themselves on a bench.

Now, suddenly, they have work to do.

Don't worry, it's part of the process, and as they strengthen, you'll notice you walk faster and, above all, with less effort.

3. Your feet will grow and you may need a bigger size.

One of the most surprising changes is that your foot "grows" after leaving conventional footwear.

This is especially noticeable in people with high arches or a lot of arch, who tend to have a more shortened and rigid foot.

As you free your feet, your arches relax and the base of support expands, which may mean that over time, you need a larger size.

This is good, it's a sign that your foot is gaining mobility and functionality.

In conclusion.

Leaving conventional footwear is like freeing a little bird from a cage.

At first, it won't fly, but it's only a matter of time.

The same happens to your feet.

Over time, you'll notice how they become stronger, more agile, and more resilient.

And if you really want to strengthen them, you have to exercise them.

Go to the gym, run, lift weights, do push-ups, pull-ups...barefoot or in barefoot footwear.

And for this, Merrell has released shoes where you just slip your foot in, twist, and run. That easy.

With this, I've told you everything and nothing.

Read the description, you'll see it's awesome.

Because yes, it's true, it might be hard at first, but once you make the switch, there's no going back.
