A fierce mother to find a shoe for her daughter

He walked past the shop window, saw something that caught his eye and it happened.

There is a saying that goes "when you stick your nose in a painting, you can't see the painting".

It refers to the fact that you lack distance, breadth of vision...

It refers to the fact that we live, you live, with such a closed mind, that you lack the space to see reality.

This is what happens in your day to day life.

We have beliefs so deep inside us that we consider them valid, even if you have never thought about them.

You just believe them.

That's why it surprises me when what I'm telling you today happens.


Barbara walks in with her daughter.

The little girl is 10 years old, but she behaves as if she were 4. She needs special care and keeps moving her hands and feet.  

Barbara tells Angel that a few days ago she walked past the shop and noticed the width of the shoes.

She says:   

"If feet are wider at the front than at the back, why are the shoes the other way round?"

Angel smiles approvingly at his reflection. We have been talking about it for years and we are surprised that, being something so easy to see, so few people realise it.

When Barbara finishes speaking, Angel picks up a shoe from the shelf and answers her:

"You're absolutely right, it's something we've been wondering about for years. Feet are wider in the toe area, shoes are the opposite, narrower, but it's not just the width.

Have you noticed the elevation of the back part, which is called the heel?

Its only function is aesthetic and we have shoe shops full of children's shoes with it.

What's more, it is sometimes hidden under the insole. At first glance they look flat and when you lift the insole you find a rise in the heel.

Then many people complain about scoliosis, one hip higher than the other, back pain...".

"And the buttresses, -Angel continues.

Feet need to grow free, with space and without anything to impede their movements. It's the only way for them to acquire the necessary strength to support the body, and we do exactly the opposite".

Barbara is attentive to her daughter, but doesn't lose track of what Angel is saying.

She tries on a pair of shoes and when she sees her toes through the holes in the Ultra Kids, she is both surprised and pleased that she can move them.

"Look at the toes, how free they are." -says Barbara.

Little Elena left with the Ultra Kids on and looked more stable, even happier.


They come back after the summer, for back to school.

Barbara tried to put on some old slippers that she had at home and after the first day she saw that her daughter came back with her foot with marks all over it, even chafing in the little toe area.

She was alarmed, and said: "She's not going to wear these any more."

But today, she was looking for something for herself. After seeing how well her daughter had been doing these past few months, she wanted to try that feeling.

Angel told her that we would soon have a new, very feminine brand. That if she wasn't in a hurry, she should wait.

The wait is over.
