The other day an acquaintance told me that he has stopped walking because his traumatologist told him to.
He had discomfort in the peroneal muscle and the traumatologist's solution was to stop walking and start cycling.
The man is over 60 years old.
Today I tell you a fable with a single purpose:
Never stop walking.
It begins like this.
The man took the form of a beggar and went down to the village. He looked for the cobbler's house and said to him:
— Brother I am very poor, I don't have a single coin on me, these are my only sandals and they are broken, if you would do me the favour....
The cobbler said to him:
— I am tired of everyone coming to ask and no one to give.
The man said to him:
— I could give you everything you need.
The distrustful cobbler saw a beggar and asked him:
— Could you give me the million euros I need to be happy?
The man said to him:
— I can give you 10 times more than that, but in exchange for something.
— For what? The cobbler asked.
— In exchange for your legs.
The cobbler asked:
— Why do I want 10 million euros if I am not going to be able to walk?
Then the man said to him:
— I can give you 100 million euros in exchange for your arms.
The cobbler asked:
— Why do I want 100 million euros if I won't even be able to eat alone?
Then the master said to him:
— I can give you 1000 million euros in exchange for your eyes.
The cobbler, after some thought, asked:
— Why do I want 1000 million euros if I won't be able to see my wife, my children, my friends...?
Then the gentleman said to him:
— Oh brother, brother!
What a fortune you have and you don't even notice it!
End.
Humans feel good less intensely than evil.
We value what we lose more than what we have.
You have to suffer an injury to miss something as natural as walking.
That's when you ask yourself:
How much is a walk in the countryside worth?
With your wife,
With friends,
With your children.
And it doesn't matter if you go at marathon pace or turtle pace.
If it's hot or cold.
You are rich because you have a world to walk in.
Keep walking!
Health starts with your feet.
